Ishinomaki Laboratory’s AA stool is a clever and minimalist wooden piece made up of two triangular components. Shaped like the letter A and resembling trestle legs, each part can be used individually as a small stool or combined to create a wider, more stable seat. You can also line them up to form a narrow bench or use them as a simple side table.

Versatile and adaptable, the AA stools are an ideal solution for small spaces or as extra seating when guests arrive. Standing 56 cm tall, the stools are crafted from Japanese hardwood with distinctive grain patterns, and finished with a protective laminate surface that resists stains and knocks.

callyIshinomaki Laboratory is a Japanese furniture brand that emerged in the aftermath of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami. Originally founded as an open DIY-style workshop, it offered residents of Ishinomaki a hands-on way to rebuild, repair and come together through shared projects. Among other initiatives, Ishinomaki Laboratory worked with the local community to create benches for an outdoor cinema, while workshops launched in collaboration with furniture manufacturer Herman Miller helped bring professional furniture design into everyday life.

Since then, Ishinomaki Laboratory has grown into the world’s first DIY furniture brand, offering a wide selection of high-quality, creativity-driven wooden furniture – all crafted locally in Japan.
