Artek's Armchair 411 was designed by Ben af Schultén 1974. Known as the Safari Armchair, the design classic achieved great success internationally. With its iconic design, armchair 411 is one of the most beloved classics of Finnish design.

A masterpiece of modern furniture design, the Artek Safari Armchair comes with a crisp birch frame. Upholstered in canvas or natural cowhide, the Armchair 411 is comfortable enough to allow sitting for long periods of time. Artek’s classic piece of furniture has elevated homes around the world ever since it was made.

First joining the company as a design student, over the years the designer created furniture, such as Safari Armchair, that left a lasting legacy. Af Schultén also designed the iconic N113 chair for the dining room in 1979 as well as the rare N117 lounge chair in 1976.
