Pukka 2-seater sofa, purple

Design duo Yabu Pushelberg designed the Pukka furniture series for Ligne Roset. The series included an armchair, sofa and a footstool in two different sizes. Pukka's creative design has been inspired by the iconic Up armchair designed by Gaetano Pesce for B&B Italia in 1969.

Pukka’s design echoes the soft, elastic and feminine theme of the Up armchair. The purple sofa is upholstered with a velvety soft Kvadrat Gentle 2 fabric that perfectly matches the organic and rounded form of the armchair. The colour palette of the Pukka series consists of four soft pastel colours that complement the essence of the series seamlessly.

Ligne Roset is a French furniture company with a long and eventful history. Antoine Roset founded the company in 1860 when it began as a wood processing factory. Later, the company began manufacturing walking sticks, wooden umbrellas, and chair frames.

The focus of the family business changed significantly in the 1950s when it began to contract furniture such as tables, chairs, and beds for schools and hospitals. Ligne Roset began to grow rapidly and soon they started a new chapter by entering the domestic market.

At the turn of the 1960s and 1970s, Ligne Roset began collaborating more with interior architects and designers to enrich their business operations. One of these designers was Michel Ducaroy. Ligne Roset’s first store was opened in 1973, and it was the same year as Michel Ducaroy’s Togo sofa was launched. Togo series is considered to be probably Ligne Roset’s best-known product to date. Nowadays Ligne Roset designs and manufactures furniture, lighting and textiles.
