Large Toini Muona Leaf Pattern Wall Relief for Arabia, 1950s

The theme of this relief is inspired by nature, as is often the case in Finnish design. The relief was created by Toini Muona, one of the most influential and respected ceramic artists of her time in Finland. The post-war period in Finland produced a generation of young designers who rose to international fame through their success at fairs and Triennales – and Toini Muona was undoubtedly at the forefront of this group.
