OW149 Colonial Chair is an iconic lounge chair and one the best-known designs of the Danish designer Ole Wanscher.

Designed in 1949, the Colonial chair pays tribute to the classic aesthetics of its time. The slender, well-crafted body and voluminous cushions create a sophisticated silhouette that invites you to sit back.

The charm of the Colonial chair comes from the uncompromised comfort: Wanscher wanted to design a chair that would be slender and stable at the same time.

Fifteen years later, Wanscher created the Colonial Series with the matching couch, coffee table and a footstool.

Carl Hansen & Søn is a family-run Danish company specialising in classic wooden furniture. The story of Carl Hansen & Søn dates back to 1908 when Danish cabinetmaker Carl Hansen established a small furniture workshop on the island of Funen.
