The J165C counter stool by FDB Møbler is a graceful, classic seating option for a high table or kitchen island. The counter stool is crafted from solid oak, and its round seat is adorned with a paper wicker weave with a beautiful, vivid texture. Designed by Jørgen Bækmark in the 1960s, the J165 bar and counter stools were relaunched in 2019 to celebrate Bækmark’s 90th birthday. Their timeless elegance looks fresh and relevant also in contemporary interiors.

Danish FDB Møbler is strongly rooted in the icons of Danish furniture design. FDB, the Danish Consumers’ Co-operative Society, was founded in 1940 to produce functionalist and democratic design for ordinary people – thanks to the new industrial production, FDB could manufacture high-quality furniture at low prices. During the next decades, designers such as Børge Mogensen and Poul M. Volther created numerous timeless pieces of Danish furniture design. FDB closed its factory in 1980, but in 2013 the Danish Coop launched FDB Møbler and started re-releasing some of the most beloved products of the mid-century Danish design. In addition to the classics, FDB Møbler creates new furniture inspired by the old collections.
