Hill House chair, petroleum green velvet

Cassina's Hill House chair was designed by the Scottish architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1902. The chair was originally designed for the Hill House project, which is one of the most renowned works by Mackintosh. Cassina re-issued the Hill House chair in 1973. This eye-catching chair features a black-stained ash wood frame with a padded seat upholstered in petroleum green velvet. The Hill House chair makes a statement either at the head of a dining table or as a refined accent chair in the living room.

Cassina is an Italian design brand established in 1927. In the 1950s Cassina pioneered in launching industrial design in Italy, and today its collections are characterized by combinations of new, technical innovations and traditional craftsmanship. During the decades, Cassina has collaborated with some of the most legendary masters of modern design, including Le Corbusier, Frank Lloyd Wright and Gerrit Thomas Rietveldt, and its more recent collaborations feature names such as Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Michele de Lucchi and Philippe Starck. In 2015, the Spanish architect and designer Patricia Urquiola became the Art Director of Cassina.
