The Epic coffee table, designed by GamFratesi for GUBI, is a refreshingly contemporary take on classic architectural elements. The sculptural, seemingly simple look of the Epic coffee table comprises two geometric elements: a hexagon and a circle. The table’s modern, minimalist tone carries a subtle reference to the iconic columns of Ancient Greece. Choose a large Epic table as the focal point of a living room, a smaller size to accompany a lounger chair or as an eloquent nightstand, or combine different sizes and colors to create an eye-catching ensemble.

Epic by GUBI is a collection of distinctive tables crafted in either beautiful travertine stone or simple steel, designed by the Danish-Italian design duo GamFratesi: Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi. The designers drew inspiration to the series from the historical travertine constructions such as the Roman Colosseum. The grand Epic tables also lend their name from epic poems. The fascinating, individual personality of each stone makes every table unique, continuously adding new chapters to the table’s story with patina. The Epic collection features coffee tables in several sizes, and a dining table, all manufactured in Italy.

GamFratesi

Gubi Olsen and his wife Lisbeth Olsen founded GUBI in 1967. The company has been based since the beginning on product design and development. Over the years, the two designers have created a large collection of upholstered furniture and a furniture fabric, called Holmens Klæde.

Since 1967, GUBI’s core philosophy has been to create timeless designs, with aesthetics, innovation, functionality and quality as guiding principles. GUBI’s many new designs are developed partly in cooperation with designers who have previously left their mark on GUBI products and partly in association with a number of new designers who, in turn, will add new stories to the GUBI saga.
