Iittala Birds has become a global phenomenon. It all started in the early 1970s when Finnish glass artist Oiva Toikka designed his first glass birds, the small Sieppo. As Toikka continued to design new birds, Iittala launched a new generation of the Iittala Birds series in 2007. The new additions were designed by Italian artist and jewelry designer Giorgio Vigna, whose Vigna Collection is characteristically sculptural.
