The Baby rocket stool, designed by Eero Aarnio, is the Rocket bar stool's sweet little sister. Eero Aarnio is not very known for its wood products, but the Rocket stools show that Aarnio is skilled also in this field. Rocket is a bar stool whose sturdy puffy shape seems inviting to seat down. Aarnio originally designed the Rocket stool for his kitchen and it became part of Artek's selection after Tom Dixon saw it in Aarnio's kitchen.

Eero Aarnio (b. 1932) is a Finnish designer and professor h.c. and is considered one of the great innovators of modern furniture design. During the years, Aarnio has experimented with a variety of different materials, including plastic, fibreglass and foam plastic. With these materials he has created some of the icons of Finnish design such as the Ball Chair (1962), Bubble Chair (1968) and Pastil Chair (1968), just to name a few.
Artek was founded in 1935 by four young idealists – Alvar and Aino Aalto, Nils-Gustav Hahl and Maire Gullichsen published a design manifesto inspired by functionalism, stating that Artek’s aim was “to sell furniture and to promote modern culture of habitation by exhibitions and other means”. Since its foundation, Artek has played in the intersection of design, architecture, and art, making Finnish design and Alvar Aalto's furniture famous all over the world. Since 2013, Artek has been part of the Swiss furniture company Vitra.
