Atelje creamer

Raija Uosikkinen (1923–2004) was a Finnish ceramic artist and pattern designer who studied ceramics at the Institute of Industrial Art in Helsinki and whose career at the Finnish ceramic manufacturer Arabia lasted for almost 40 years. Uosikkinen is famous for numerous beloved patterns and illustrations, including pattern design of Kaj Franck’s B tableware, the decorative Emilia collection, Arabia's Kaleva-themed annual plates and the decorative Ali pattern, which was inspired by arabesque ornaments. Iittala’s Mainio Sarastus tableware collection, launched in 2018, was based on the Inari pattern designed by Uosikkinen in 1965. Uosikkinen’s designs have also been seen at the Milano Triennale in 1954 and 1960, and the 1958 Brussels World's Fair.

Peter Winquist (1941) is an Ålandic ceramic artist. Winquist began studying ceramics at the Gothenburg School of Art and Design in 1963. After graduating in 1967, Winquist was hired as a designer for the Arabia factory. The EH tableware designed by Winquist, also known as the Faenza tableware, was awarded at the Faenza’s International Ceramic Art Competition in 1971.

Winquist moved to Pentik’s ceramic factory in 1974, where he worked as a designer and artistic director until 1983. Winquist also worked as the principal of the School of Ceramics from 1985 to 1988 in Posio. Winquist founded his own ceramics studio in Eckerö, Åland in 1998. Winquist's current production consists of unique ceramic sculptures and domestic goods.
