Artek's Bench 153B with a solid seat updates the iconic style of Alvar Aalto's 153 series slatted benches, originally designed in 1945. Launched in 2024, this wooden bench distinguishes itself from the slatted benches with its solid seat that rests on the classic L-shaped birch legs, a signature of Aalto's design legacy. The bench is made in Finland.

Equally at home beside a dining table or as a multi-functional piece in bedrooms and dressing areas, the Aalto bench 153B can also be styled as an elegant side, sofa or plant table. Alvar Aalto

Artek was founded in 1935 by four young idealists – Alvar and Aino Aalto, Nils-Gustav Hahl and Maire Gullichsen published a design manifesto inspired by functionalism, stating that Artek’s aim was “to sell furniture and to promote modern culture of habitation by exhibitions and other means”.
