GUBI’s Wonder sofa merges 1970s lounge furniture with modern minimalist aesthetics. Innovative cushions add a touch of playfulness to the clean-lined modular design: folded over the backrest, the cushions are attached to the frame with hidden magnets. Although the 3-seater sofa with chaise lounge is more than ideal for lounging, its backrest also offers nice support for sitting in an upright position for longer periods of time.

Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou from design studio Space Copenhagen describe the sofa like this: “A sofa is a place for reflection and pause, for conversation; a place for relaxation, where you can let yourself slip into reverie, touching upon perhaps the more poetic or intangible aspects of life. ‘Wonder’ felt like a fitting name.” The 3-seater sofa’s informal elegance is perfect for the living room as well as coffee shops, waiting rooms and hotel lobbies, offering a place for a moment of daydreaming and serenity – and wonder.

Gubi Olsen and his wife Lisbeth Olsen founded GUBI in 1967. The company has been based since the beginning on product design and development. Over the years, the two designers have created a large collection of upholstered furniture and a furniture fabric, called Holmens Klæde.

Since 1967, GUBI’s core philosophy has been to create timeless designs, with aesthetics, innovation, functionality and quality as guiding principles. GUBI’s many new designs are developed partly in cooperation with designers who have previously left their mark on GUBI products and partly in association with a number of new designers who, in turn, will add new stories to the GUBI saga.
