The Ploum settee by Ligne Roset was designed by the designer duo Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec in 2001. The Ploum settee has a beautifully distinctive appearance—a combination of graceful lines of contemporary design mixed with echoes of the Romanticism era carried over from the 18th century. The combination leads to a harmonious end result, creating an elegant impression that raises the interior to a whole new level.
 
The large Ploum settee has an asymmetrical structure; the right-hand backrest is slightly higher than the left, and the right-hand seat is slightly deeper compared to the left seat. The asymmetrical structure allows relaxing and enjoying the comfort of the settee in several different postures.

Ligne Roset is a French furniture company with a long and eventful history. Antoine Roset founded the company in 1860 when it began as a wood processing factory. Later, the company began manufacturing walking sticks, wooden umbrellas, and chair frames.

The focus of the family business changed significantly in the 1950s when it began to contract furniture such as tables, chairs, and beds for schools and hospitals. Ligne Roset began to grow rapidly and soon they started a new chapter by entering the domestic market.

At the turn of the 1960s and 1970s, Ligne Roset began collaborating more with interior architects and designers to enrich their business operations. One of these designers was Michel Ducaroy. Ligne Roset’s first store was opened in 1973, and it was the same year as Michel Ducaroy’s Togo sofa was launched. Togo series is considered to be probably Ligne Roset’s best-known product to date. Nowadays Ligne Roset designs and manufactures furniture, lighting and textiles.
