No 7 bar stool, 65 cm, white lacquered oak - honey leather

Sibast No 7 Bar was inspired by Helge Sibast’s No 7 chair from 1953. Helge Sibast’s grandson Ditlev and his wife Anna Sibast together with Danish designer Marcus Hannibal have interpreted the design of the No 7 dining chair into a contemporary bar stool. Just like the original model, Sibast No 7 Bar features a smooth, curved backrest combined with diagonal, tapered back legs and a light, upholstered seat. The bar stool makes a great fit in private kitchens as well as restaurants and cafés. The stool is a fine example of modern Danish craftsmanship, and it is part of the Sibast Furniture collection featuring Helge Sibast’s original works and new Danish design.

Anna & Ditlev Sibast

Danish furniture manufacturer Sibast was established in 1908, when Peder Olsen Sibast opened his small carpenter’s workshop in the Danish countryside. His son Helge Sibast was born the same year. Helge grew up with the workshop, and in the 1940s he and his siblings Ole and Emma took over the company. Besides a carpenter, Helge also proved to be a skillful designer, and his designs, such as the Sibast chairs No 7 and 8, made Sibast Furniture famous also outside of Denmark. In the 1950s Sibast collaborated successfully with the Danish furniture designer Arne Vodder, and in the 1960s Sibast chairs made their way even to the White House.
