No 2.1 table, extendable, oak oil nature

The Sibast No 2.1 is a beautifully detailed table, designed by Anna and Ditlev Sibast, perfect for both long conversations over dinner and important meetings at the office. The No 2.1 dining table interprets the iconic designer Helge Sibast’s principle that chairs are not meant to be hidden under the table, but a table should highlight the beauty of the chairs standing by it instead. Lending inspiration from the minimalistic design of Helge Sibast’s No 1 side table, the No 2.1 table looks just as timeless and alluring but with added possibilities for use thanks to its extendability.

The No 2.1 table is easy to envision in a multitude of settings and situations, and it is large enough for even a bigger gathering. With matching extension leaves, available separately, the table's size can be extended to 2.5 meters (one extension leaf) or even 3 meters (two extension leaves). The extension plates can be stored neatly in a special compartment inside the table.

Anna & Ditlev Sibast

Danish furniture manufacturer Sibast was established in 1908, when Peder Olsen Sibast opened his small carpenter’s workshop in the Danish countryside. His son Helge Sibast was born the same year. Helge grew up with the workshop, and in the 1940s he and his siblings Ole and Emma took over the company. Besides a carpenter, Helge also proved to be a skillful designer, and his designs, such as the Sibast chairs No 7 and 8, made Sibast Furniture famous also outside of Denmark. In the 1950s Sibast collaborated successfully with the Danish furniture designer Arne Vodder, and in the 1960s Sibast chairs made their way even to the White House.
