Metsä rug, 170 x 240 cm

The Metsä rug by Mum's is designer Jenni Tuominen’s intriguing interpretation of time spent in a forest – picking berries, gathering plants and observing animals. Tuominen cut plants and animals out of coloured paper and used them to compose the simple and graphic pattern. The minimalist colour combination will suit both traditional and modern homes. The Metsä rug measures 170 cm x 240 cm.

Finnish brand Mum's started out as an art project of Outi Puro in 2006 and gradually developed into a design company that specializes in ethically produced rugs. Mum's combines Scandinavian design with traditional craftsmanship around the world — its products are made by artisans in India, Cambodia, Bolivia and South Africa. By employing local artisans, Mum’s wants to improve social, economic and environmental well-being and equality. Most of its artisans are women who work from home, and the products are made from local materials, surplus or natural.
