Inkeri Toikka fish platter, clear

The fish platter, manufactured by Nuutajärvi Glass, was designed by Inkeri Toikka. Drawing its inspiration from subnautica fauna, the platter is decorated with a detailed fish motif. The fish platter, made of clear glass, serves not only as a serving dish but also as a charming decorative item for both everyday and festive settings.

Nuutajärvi Glassworks was established in Urjala in 1793, and until 2014 it was the oldest glass factory still operating in Finland. The Nuutajärvi glass factory area is nowadays listed among the nationally important built cultural environments by The National Board of Antiquities. During its long history, Nuutajärvi Glassworks manufactured everything from window glass to design glass.

Kaj Franck was the longest-running artistic director of the Nuutajärvi Glassworks between 1951 and 1973. The glass factory also employed several other well-known Finnish glass designers such as Gunnel Nyman, Saara Hopea, Oiva Toikka, Heikki Orvola and Kerttu Nurminen. Independent glass designers and artists still work and manufacture glass objects at the Nuutajärvi glass factory area. The Nuutajärvi Glass Museum Prykäri, designed by Kaj Franck, also locates in the area.
