Calin sofa, 2-seater, white

The Calin sofa is included in the Calin furniture collection designed by Pascal Mourgue for Cinna in 1994. The inspiration for the design of the collection came from a large feather pillow with a white pillowcase folded in half against a wall. The pillow-like design of the collection and the comfort it provides has since charmed many generations. The soft but robust and adjustable structure of the Calin sofa has been developed to withstand the test of time. The Calin sofa has been manufactured with fixed or adjustable backrest with an aluminium base.

Australian designer Nick Rennie designed an updated version of the Calin collection for Ligne Roset in honour of its 20th anniversary. With the re-design in 2015, the Calin sofa was also manufactured with a wooden base. The seating comfort was also improved by added extra cushions. Calin collection has been manufactured with loose covers in several different colours. The Calin collection includes two armchairs, one two-seater sofa, two sizes of ottomans and dining table chairs.

Ligne Roset is a French furniture company with a long and eventful history. Antoine Roset founded the company in 1860 when it began as a wood processing factory. Later, the company began manufacturing walking sticks, wooden umbrellas, and chair frames.

The focus of the family business changed significantly in the 1950s when it began to contract furniture such as tables, chairs, and beds for schools and hospitals. Ligne Roset began to grow rapidly and soon they started a new chapter by entering the domestic market.

At the turn of the 1960s and 1970s, Ligne Roset began collaborating more with interior architects and designers to enrich their business operations. One of these designers was Michel Ducaroy. Ligne Roset’s first store was opened in 1973, and it was the same year as Michel Ducaroy’s Togo sofa was launched. Togo series is considered to be probably Ligne Roset’s best-known product to date. Nowadays Ligne Roset designs and manufactures furniture, lighting and textiles.
