C-Chair Outdoor, natural - teak

GUBI’s C-Chair Outdoor is an outdoor version of the iconic chair designed by Marcel Gascoin in 1947. Made of teak wood and high-density polyethylene wicker, the chair is a gorgeous addition to any balcony, patio or outdoor terrace. The chair's innovative seat material resembles water hyacinth or paper yarn in appearance but can handle any weather, while the natural teak frame will develop a distinguished silvery grey patina over time, use and exposure to the elements.

The original C-Chair was born out of sheer necessity in post-war France when new, smaller homes were built to replace those damaged in the war, and new furniture was needed to fit into those homes. Marcel Gascoin answered this need by designing functional yet elegant furniture like the C-Chair, a classic dining chair characterised by a robust construction and a simple yet strong expression. Due to its clean-lined design language, the C-Chair fits into a variety of interiors from private homes to public spaces, and the outdoor materials add even more possibilities for its use.

Gubi Olsen and his wife Lisbeth Olsen founded GUBI in 1967. The company has been based since the beginning on product design and development. Over the years, the two designers have created a large collection of upholstered furniture and a furniture fabric, called Holmens Klæde.

Since 1967, GUBI’s core philosophy has been to create timeless designs, with aesthetics, innovation, functionality and quality as guiding principles. GUBI’s many new designs are developed partly in cooperation with designers who have previously left their mark on GUBI products and partly in association with a number of new designers who, in turn, will add new stories to the GUBI saga.
