Ishinomaki Laboratory’s 105° lounge chair, designed by Norm Architects, is a minimalist piece defined by clean lines and a calm, understated presence. Its name refers to the 105-degree angle of the backrest, which invites you to unwind – whether you're chatting with friends, enjoying a quiet moment, or diving into a good book. Light and low in profile, the lounge chair fits effortlessly into smaller spaces or can stand freely in the middle of a room.

The frame of the 105° lounge chair is crafted from Japanese hardwood with a visible grain and finished with a protective laminated layer. The square-shaped seat cushions are upholstered in Kvadrat’s hardwearing Hallingdal wool blend, making the chair a durable choice for both family homes and public interiors.

callyIshinomaki Laboratory is a Japanese furniture brand that emerged in the aftermath of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami. Originally founded as an open DIY-style workshop, it offered residents of Ishinomaki a hands-on way to rebuild, repair and come together through shared projects. Among other initiatives, Ishinomaki Laboratory worked with the local community to create benches for an outdoor cinema, while workshops launched in collaboration with furniture manufacturer Herman Miller helped bring professional furniture design into everyday life.

Since then, Ishinomaki Laboratory has grown into the world’s first DIY furniture brand, offering a wide selection of high-quality, creativity-driven wooden furniture – all crafted locally in Japan.
