Flora tumbler 20 cl, ametisti/neodymium

The Flora tumbler is part of the Flora collection designed by Oiva Toikka in the 1960s, which became also internationally beloved after its launch. Beautiful tumbler cheers up with its glowing purple color. The captivating amethyst-coloured glass has also been crafted from neodymium glass, which changes its hue depending on the light. In natural light, the colour is a rich, warm-tinged purple, while under certain artificial lighting, it shifts to a cool blue-grey tone.

Inspired by nature, the Flora series imitates a delicate floral pattern with embossed shapes that add a striking detail to any table setting. The mouthblown glassware makes a great gift idea.

Oiva Toikka

Nuutajärvi Glassworks was established in Urjala in 1793, and until 2014 it was the oldest glass factory still operating in Finland. The Nuutajärvi glass factory area is nowadays listed among the nationally important built cultural environments by The National Board of Antiquities. During its long history, Nuutajärvi Glassworks manufactured everything from window glass to design glass.

Kaj Franck was the longest-running artistic director of the Nuutajärvi Glassworks between 1951 and 1973. The glass factory also employed several other well-known Finnish glass designers such as Gunnel Nyman, Saara Hopea, Oiva Toikka, Heikki Orvola and Kerttu Nurminen. Independent glass designers and artists still work and manufacture glass objects at the Nuutajärvi glass factory area. The Nuutajärvi Glass Museum Prykäri, designed by Kaj Franck, also locates in the area.
